How the directory works
Data sources and methodology
SafeRoom Scout separates physical proximity from documented service coverage so homeowners can understand why an installer appears.
Sources
We review provider websites, manufacturer dealer directories, government program pages, membership or listing directories, and other first-party or authoritative material. Provider profiles identify the consumer-facing sources used and when they were checked.
Service-area evidence
Eligibility can be supported by documented nationwide, statewide, county, municipality, ZIP, or installation-radius coverage. A branch marker alone does not prove service. Providers with unknown-only coverage are omitted from confirmed results.
Verification and freshness
Evidence is normalized into supported, verified, conflicted, stale, or unresolved states. High-risk standards and testing claims receive stricter freshness treatment. Changed, missing, or conflicting evidence is routed for review rather than silently treated as fact.
Ordering and corrections
Results prioritize eligible, specific service evidence and requested structured capabilities before evidence quality, distance, and a deterministic tie-breaker. There is no paid placement. To report a possible correction, email contact@saferoomscout.com; submitted information is reviewed against source evidence before publication.
